I’m really not sure if there are words to describe what a special day this was, but I will try my best!
Ty & Carolyn are friends of ours that we’ve been able to connect with on so many levels, from working weddings together to sharing our faith in Jesus. Though we lived hours apart, we always loved any time we got to see them.
Late one night as we were winding down I checked my email and saw that I had an inquiry from Ty. It essentially said “hey we’re renewing our vows in Yosemite and we want you to be there to document it. Oh yeah, and this is happening next week.” Yes – the NEXT WEEK.
We jumped on a call the next day to work out all the details. We flew my mom down to stay with the kids and we flew across the country to document these two and their Yosemite Vow Renewal to celebrate their 10-year wedding anniversary.
We arrived at the airport, hopped in a car together, and hit the road. When I tell you my jaw fell through the earth when we came through the tunnel to see Yosemite for the first, I’m almost not exaggerating.
We explored the park creating beautiful portraits and capturing moments of Ty & Carolyn as they got ready at the historic Ahwahnee Hotel. Starting out in Yosemite Valley and then heading up to Half Dome and Taft Point, we got to see so much of this amazing destination. Once we hiked our way out to Taft Point, we found a perfect spot with the sun setting and the spectacular El Capitan highlighted in the background.
And cue the most beautiful vows and all of the emotions. Ty & Carolyn’s love for each other runs deep and they are truly a special pair. I’m so grateful to have been there to document this celebration of their love.
