One time a friend asked me "Jake, what do you like to do other than photography?" I stared with a blank face, empty brain, mouth open and finally answered "Honestly, nothing."
A lot has changed since then. I've got a family now. I've developed a love for reading and house projects. My love for photography though? The same. Probably deeper and more real now.
I'm excited to share that love with you and yours.
← Memories like this.
We inherited this photograph of my wife's grandparents as young kids in love. It’s seriously the coolest. And we aren’t the only ones who think that; much of her extended family has this same picture framed.
While photographing you I think I could be creating this kind of photo.
A photo that will be placed in a family home. One that'll be in the backdrop of grandkids memories and then rediscovered decades later as they’re going through old boxes.
It’ll become a memory cherished, not only to you, but by the people who love you. Because life is about the people you share it with and the meaning you make together.
SOMETIMES, YOU NEED TO STEP OUTSIDE OF YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE TO GET A GOOD LOOK AT IT
That’s what photos are about. We need reminders of what we’ve got, especially on the mundane days. When we see photos of ourselves and our loved ones smiling or laughing together, we remember that we’re not alone, that we’re loved, and that there’s a reason we’re here doing this whole thing.
Picture young 19-year-old Jake, no beard, rocking that Canon Rebel with an 8gb memory card, showing up to a wedding with no clue and all heart, ready to document this day just like the pros...
My approach to photography is to make your experience as relaxed and easy as possible. I'm showing up with the single goal of creating images that are real.
Nothing forced. No agenda except capturing what matters most to you.

Like… what if we packed up the kids and traveled around the country in an RV?
(Just me and my wife on that one? Cool, cool.)
← Yeah, we really did that.
After photographing weddings in Tampa, FL, for a decade as a husband and wife team, we sold our house, moved into an RV with our sons, and embarked on a GIANT adventure.
We spent all of 2023 traveling the United States. We made it 25 of the 50 states.
It was a wild ride and I'd love to tell you all about it.
After talking to a few photographers for our wedding, we knew booking Jake was absolutely the right choice. I was so excited after talking with Jake for our initial consultation. I felt this special energy and connection. Jake captured so many amazing moments during our wedding. Some moments that I had no idea he captured until we got all of our photos back. I’m absolutely in love with our photos. They are so special for my friends and family and will be treasured for years to come. We could not be happier with our entire experience of having Jake be our wedding photographer. Seriously the best!!

My husband and I are not people who are comfortable in front of the camera and Jake made us feel so at ease! We were literally laughing and smiling the whole time with him. He had a lot of good ideas for our portraits and we absolutely LOVE how they turned out. We wanted light, airy, and classic photos that looked natural and their pictures were nothing short of that. Jake is very organized and made the family and bridal party pictures so streamlined and efficient. We talked to Jake a lot prior to the wedding and he knew everything we wanted captured on our wedding day and we could not be happier with how our pictures turned out! We would absolutely recommend and would use him in the future! Thank you thank you for the best experience!

Spoiler alert, it's not the ones you recreated from Pinterest or whatever the current trend is.
